Sustainably meeting this demand poses many complicated challenges. as a Buyer, you can contribute to our purpose of Feeding the Future by becoming an integral part of the Global Operations Procurement team and optimizing our global procurement strategy for CAPEX investment projects.

What are you going to do?

As Buyer, you will be part of the Global Operations Procurement team and report to the CAPEX Lead Buyer. You will work closely with the Nutreco Industrial Projects team, which leads all of Nutreco’s major CAPEX investment projects around the world. You have a support role in global projects, managing the tools and control functions for sourcing process for all non-raw material spend categories (e.g., Manufacturing goods and Facilities).

On a strategic level, you will aid on deployment of the sourcing strategies to ensure the procurement within all the projects is aligned and meets our defined standards. Additionally, you will help build a program to manage relationships with suppliers all over the world, aiming to continuously improve the way we work and drive closer alignment with the business when it comes to operations projects.

Your main focus will be to work on projects in a more hands-on capacity, supporting an average of four projects at a time. Your involvement in these projects starts with clarifying the necessary specifications, includes the identification of suitable suppliers, the management of timelines and stakeholder expectations, and ensuring the proper procurement process is being put into practice.

The Global Operations Procurement team is a tight-knit group of highly skilled and ambitious people. Currently, the team has 9 members, but is expanding steadily. The team boasts a flat hierarchy and open communication culture in addition to its monthly team meetings. The CAPEX Team is a new cell within this group and this position is already an expansion due to the company’s perceived value over this role

  • You will be based in Amersfoort. Nutreco enables you to work remotely as well (based on the policy in place);
  • We will offer you a fulltime position, 40 hours per week;
  • You will get 30 vacation days, with the possibility to sell or purchase a limit amount of days;
  • Your position is classified in a Nutreco Hay scale, which ensures an attractive salary based on skills and experience, paid in 12 monthly payments plus holiday allowance in May;
  • The possibility to earn bonuses when you reach your target;
  • International travel (occasionally).
  • These conditions are based on employment in the Netherlands and may vary depending on your location.

What we ask

We are looking for an organized and process driven individual, with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage different stakeholder and projects at the same time. Diligence and the ability to translate theoretical processes into practical results. Finally, our ideal candidate has reliable negotiation skills, great use of systems and tools and is an overall great team player.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or economic fields;
  • 2+ years experience in a similar role, working with procurement activities;
  • Knowledge and experience with Procurement methodologies, policies and procedures;
  • Experience in applying such methodologies. Policies and procedures in projects;
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch, any other languages are an advantage.
