Job Purpose
You will lead the development of strategic Category planning across Urenco global operations. Providing expertise in the development and implementation of Category Plans though expertise in the deployment of standard processes, challenging assumptions and driving creative strategic optioneering and decision making. Coaching and mentoring Urenco Category Managers and their team members and upskilling them in strategic thinking, communication, stakeholder relations and supplier relationship management. Influencing C-suite executives, business and functional leaders and key decision makers on development and acceptance of Category Plans and maintaining an external network to ensure best practice is developed and maintained across Urenco Procurement activities in this field.

Job Dimensions
The role covers Site Services, Corporate Services, Core Process Technology and Capital Expenditure across all global operations including head office functions. Furthermore the Management of key external relationships with Urenco Procurement strategy advisors. Indirectly you will manage 4 Category Managers, 1 Data Analyst and Data Analytics Administrator.

Organisational & Job Context
You will oversee the development of category plans by the Group Procurement Category Management team, responsible for ensuring stakeholder engagement is of the highest quality and value and fully anticipates current and future demands, value requirements and priorities of the business and company strategy. You will help the Category Managers to translate this value and priority requirement into short, medium and long term spend and supplier plans which deliver the necessary value and mitigation of risk. You will coach, mentor and guide Category Managers and Senior Buyers through the category planning processes ensuring that all strategic options are considered, adequately evaluated and selected strategies implemented. You will support the Category Management team in scanning the external market to monitor and anticipate risks, to stress test strategies and guide updates as appropriate. Finally, you will lead the development of systems, tools and templates to support the planning process, ongoing skills training to the Procurement team to upskill and develop the existing resources and coach/mentor high potential junior team members to become future Category Managers.

Accountability (Typically 8 Accountabilities)
Through the development of approved category plans you will deliver long term sustainable value from Urenco’s external spend. You will manage supplier relationships to mitigate risk, improve delivery performance and ensure compliance to regulatory requirements through robust relationship and contract management. You will develop skills in the Category Management Team. Delivering training, coaching and mentoring of Category Managers, Senior Buyers and High Potential members of the team. Amongst others you will; Maintain key senior stakeholder relationships to allow Category Managers to be effective in their roles, enable improved communication and engagement between procurement and operational teams, setting standards of cross functional work and collaboration, scan global supply markets and monitor macro-economic developments to understand and drive Category Risk Management. You will report on supply chain risk and take appropriate action to mitigate through updates to the agreed category plans. Furthermore you will actively contribute to the ongoing development of functional capabilities to ensure value delivery is sustainable in the long term and functional effectiveness and efficiencies is improved on a continual basis. Last but not least you will ensure that the Category Management team has access to and fully leverages all necessary systems, data and intelligence to be successful and best practice is embedded into Urenco processes.

About you as a person
For this role, the ideal candidate brings an academical degree completed with for example a CIPS accreditation or equivalent. You bring experience the delivery of Category strategies implementation in a global context and you posess leadership experience to manage cross functional teams. Your experience is gained in global matrix organisations and you are a talented stakeholder influencer and change manager. Amongst others you identify yourself in the following competencies:
