Position Overview

  • Lead Hexion procurement professional in Europe; face of Hexion to European chemical industry
  • Responsibility for the strategic procurement of assigned raw materials and other commodities to support the European business and for driving year-over-year productivity.
  • Responsible for integrated supply plans; developing and implementing strategies, supplier relationship management, negotiation preparation and execution, implementation of contracts
  • Proactively provide and implement proposals/suggestions regarding commodities and improve the interfaces with other functions like supply chain, sales, R&D, etc.

Job Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage a ~$100 million portfolio of procurement commodities in terms of ensuring security of supply, drive productivity and manage suppliers;
  • Develop and document strategic raw material strategies, using Commercial Procurement Strategies (Strategic Source Process);
  • Lead commodity manager for major EU raw materials to other regions; ability to work effectively across globe
  • Manage site services relationships and other indirects spend for EU manufacturing facilities
  • Optimize cash flow aspects of assigned commodities;
  • Regularly report to the Procurement Team and Business using a “Deep Dive” format;
  • Understand market dynamics of assigned commodities and be able to translate these into value added agreements with selected vendors;
  • Develop strong internal relationships with relevant businesses partners;
  • Support implementation and optimization of transactional flow of strategic raw materials utilizing standard procurement processes;
  • Coordinate and assist in the development of monthly and annual price forecasts and on a regular basis give market updates to the Business;
  • Continually monitor the capability and effectiveness of sourcing from developing regions to developed regions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Several years relevant procurement experience preferably in the Chemicals Industry;
  • Knowledge of current technologies related to: Market and process analysis, supply chain optimization and procurement.

Education Requirements

  • Commercial or Chemical Bachelor degree, MBA preferred
