Global Upstream Buyer

As the Global Upstream Buyer, you will be the acknowledged global expert on upstream materials for the glass bottles, aluminum cans and/or paper categories, managing approximately EUR 650 Mio/y on glass bottles/cans upstream materials, vertical facilities requirements, and upstream paper spending with global/regional/local suppliers.
What you’ll do:
- Develop, implement, and execute the upstream sourcing strategy for glass bottles.
- Help define and implement upstream sourcing strategies for Paper-based materials.
- Align and collaborate with Global and OpCo stakeholders (e.g., HGP/GSC, Regional procurement directors, OpCo: Procurement and SC Directors).
- Support other Packaging Teams and OpCos in translating the Global strategy into local roadmaps in line with their SP plans.
- Develop Tier-2 and Tier-3 supply visibility and control and develop a strong SRM program for key suppliers identifying HEINEKEN as the customer of choice.
- Responsible for sourcing upstream materials for Heineken-owned packaging companies (Verticals).
- Support sustainability priorities set by our “Brew a Better World” program (EVERGREEN Sustainability and Responsibility Pillar), focused on lowering carbon footprint and maximizing circularity.
What you’ll need:
- University level/Master’s Degree preferred.
- 5+ years of work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in direct materials procurement within a large FMCG.
- Experience in packaging procurement and/or direct materials risk management is a plus.
- Willing/able to move fast between strategic, reporting, and operations capability-building topics.
- Passion for sustainability!
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus.
