Our client is one of the market leaders in consumer electronics goods retail.


  • Lead and guide the assortment & display planning team, aligning their work with our strategic goals and customer-centric approach, while also guiding and supporting category managers in creating and maintaining assortments across various channels;
  • Develop frameworks for assortment and supplier selection, including strategic planning, new product introductions, own brands, and category optimization, while also facilitating effective supplier engagement through structured meetings;
  • Collaborate with category teams to enhance the customer experience, defining and maintaining category roles and decision-making criteria, and ensuring successful supplier engagement and execution;
  • Further refine the performance analysis framework to optimize assortment and display planning, leveraging customer-, sales-, market-share-, assortment performance-, and supplier-data for data-driven decision-making;
  • Drive the implementation of the trade plan, establishing a KPI framework for informed decision-making, and supporting category management in reviewing performance and identifying areas for improvement;
  • Further develop and implement a comprehensive category management blueprint, collaborating with international teams to share knowledge and best practices in assortment selection and maintenance;
  • Coordinate the execution of centralized assortment processes in store projects, providing feedback for specific adjustments and facilitating communication with Store Concepts;
  • Support in implementation of the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process within category teams, ensuring effective translation of commercial planning into effective order management and distribution;


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in assortment planning, category management, or related roles within the retail industry;
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams;
  • Deep knowledge of Category Management processes and standards, ideally supported by recognized certification (e.g. GS1 certification or similar);
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools for assortment planning, display optimization, and performance analysis (e.g. Relex, Blu Yonder/JDA);
  • Experience working with BI tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau) and proficient in Excel – experience with data modelling tools such as SQL a plus
  • Experience with managing commercial planning and associated budget-cycles, preferably in a retail environment;
  • Champion of change with strong coaching and delegation skills;
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch is highly desirable;
  • Enthusiasm for working in an international environment and willingness to travel on an ad-hoc basis (approx. 20% expected)
