The job

You are responsible for initial buying in (new business) projects, covering the full sourcing process including definition of product specifications (together with the development team), translation thereof in purchasing specifications and especially finding, evaluating, engaging and challenging suppliers. Your scope consists of raw materials, components and outsourced products or services.

Main objective is to establish a supplier base that develops with the product, initially focused on low volumes, co-development, fast iterations and flexibility, gradually moving towards higher volumes, cost-effectiveness, reliability, security of supply and quality.

Qualifications & competencies

  • Master degree in a relevant field of engineering; Nevi 1, 2 and 3 or equivalent study programme/course is a pre
  • Relevant work experience in a technical sourcing environment
  • Excellent communication skills (verbally and written) in Dutch, English and preferably German, comfortable to work in an international environment (up to ~25% travel)
  • Project management training and experience
  • Structured, accurate, independent, pro-active and results-driven character
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to make and implement decisions
  • Able to work in multi-disciplinary teams
