About the Job
You will work within the Europe Logistics / Supply Chain Procurement team at our brand-new Danone’s Netherlands headquarters in Hoofddorp. We are responsible for managing all the logistics and supply chain procurement streams for all our business units (Essential Dairy- and Plant-based, Alpro, Waters, Specialized Nutrition, Cycles & Procurement). Within our team, a lot of data gathering, analysis, stakeholder management and alignment is required for taking decisions. This means that you will have diverse assignments from all the logistics streams and the opportunity to work cross business units, to contribute to sourcing strategies and to maximize value to the business.
Your main responsibility will be Tender Management. This means that you will manage and coordinates the tender process for transport, – recognizing opportunities to optimize the current process and analyzing the subsequent supplier selection process.
Next to that, you will work on tasks like:
- Contract management and Sedex: align with the legal department to make sure that all documentation used for transport tenders is aligned and compliant;
- Supports the Global Category Buyer in building business cases with different suppliers;
- Support analytical study of Europe's transportation/warehousing network, to build scenarios in order to deliver value to the business;
- Run European tenders and cost analysis for road, rail and short sea transport modes.
Next to the above mentioned, there will be as well some ad-hoc projects available that will depend on the timing of your internship.
You are a student in Supply Chain / Business Administration / Industrial Engineering or any other related studies with a strong affinity with logistics and supply chain management. You should be a proactive, independent and enthusiastic individual with strong analytical skills (working with numbers in Excel). You are accurate and detail-oriented in your work, while not being afraid to communicate and network with a number of stakeholders.
There are also some hard requirements that you should consider:
- You need to be enrolled as a student during the whole duration of the internship (if you are a non-EU citizen, you need to be enrolled at a Dutch university);
- You are fluent in English – oral and written;
- You can start as of July 2019 for a minimum of 6 months (fulltime, 5 days per week);
- You are able to work in Hoofddorp, NL.

You will join the Global Logistics and Supply Chain Procurement team and you will report to the Regional Senior Buyer – EU Primary Transportation, David Dzhavakhishvili. Your manager will give you the freedom to grow by giving you the ownership, tools and knowledge you need to succeed.
