The function aims to attain a competitive asset base for the future that is fully operational, at the right cost and to ensure superior service delivery toward final customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Leading negotiations and driving engagement between Maersk and its suppliers
  • Managing complex procurement projects within operations, to ensure alignment between costs, commercial needs and operational execution
  • Responsible for supplier relationship management, building strong relations with the vendors to drive value through the supply chain
  • Being accountable for the portfolio strategy to help ensure cost leadership, compliance and best in class supplier performance
  • Accountability for problem solving, analytical work, and driving insights from analytical work related to procurement functions
  • Performing supplier market analysis and organising market intelligence
  • Cooperating closely with colleagues and stakeholders in all Maersk offices and with manager and colleagues within EUR OCL
  • Some travel must be expected but not during the covid situation right now.

We are looking for

  • Experience in leading significant contract negotiations is necessary, ideally within supply chain management, logistics or shipping operations.
  • Awareness of cost drivers will be highly valued in the selection process.
  • It is necessary to possess experience within project management and it is expected that the candidate in previous roles have acted as project leader for cross-functional projects.
  • The individual we are looking for must have strong communication & interpersonal skills, through which he or she will engage a broad range of colleagues and stakeholders locally, regionally, and globally across a wide range of departments.
  • We are looking for an experienced negotiator with a solid track record within various environments and across multiple geographies.
  • Experience in Europe and/or feeder markets is preferred.
  • The person will be responsible for driving key procurement projects forward and will be an integral part of the team and its ability to deliver on our ambitious goals.
