Rosier Nederland B.V. in Sas van Gent (NL) is a fertiliser manufacturer. The manufacturing company with over 100 employees specialises in the production of “customised” fertiliser. The products are sold through its own sales organisation to agricultural cooperatives and the art trade around the world. Rosier is part of the Yilfert holding company, belonging to the Yildirim Group.
The Function:
The Technical Buyer is responsible for effective procurement of goods and services for the local or group unit in accordance with Rosier’s principles and procedures. Based on the requirements of the applicant and established strategies/frameworks, the Purchaser adds value locally by applying an appropriate market approach, selecting the most effective supplier solution and executing and expediting the procurement process.
Area of responsibility
- Implementation of group commodity strategies and established contracts (framework agreements).
- Operational procurement of delegated goods and services, directly or through users via assigned call-off responsibilities.
- Maintain local contracts, purchase orders and master data in the respective IT systems.
- Ensure timely communication on market information, supplier production process knowledge, supplier performance, etc. to relevant stakeholders and sourcing organisation.
- Take initiatives to identify, propose and implement improvements to (common) procurement processes and systems to optimise resources and efficiency.
- Follow-up on supplier quality and delivery performance and participation in supplier development programmes.
- Can bear responsibilities for local procurement strategies belonging to the delegated range of goods and services, including all elements from strategy development to contract negotiations.
- Monitor the level of compliance with safety procedures internally and externally, educate suppliers (and others) where necessary to meet safety standards.
Interfaces
- Proactive interaction with internal (local) users to ensure that goods and services are available in the most cost-efficient and competitive manner, promoting established supply contracts (framework agreements) and common procurement procedures.
- Maintain a professional relationship with delegated and/or local suppliers.
- Actively work with the procurement network to exploit opportunities and coordinate interaction with the procurement team and procurement strategies.
Skills:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, economics or business administration
- Fluent in English, Dutch or French
Experience
- 1 to 2 years’ experience within a purchasing, project and/or commercial environment in the chemical or similar industry
- Basic technical knowledge related to the delegated package
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate commercial deals
- Good knowledge of business and procurement processes, policies and procedures
- Working knowledge of computer systems and databases and SAP or equivalent
You have technical insight and knowledge of chemical products. You can distinguish main issues from side issues, have the courage to make decisions and set priorities, even in hectic times. You have a hands-on mentality. You are stress-resistant and do not have a 9-to-5 mentality. You have good communication skills, persuasiveness and know how to achieve your objectives.
