The Buyer is responsable for:

  • Ensuring that suppliers of the Construction and Fit-out/reno spend categories are reliable, deliver on time and at the best commercial conditions and ensures the highest quality of goods and services, in compliance with the Group rules of conduct concerning relationships with suppliers.
  • Efficient and pro-active support of the internal customer
  • Optimize the external spend
  • Supplier Relationship Management

The Buyer will:

  • Report to the Procurement Director, in case of a fit out/renovation project the local expert buyer is point of reference, in case of a big and pure construction project, point of reference is the construction project manager
  • Implement the Corporate Procurement Strategy
  • Define together with the internal customer the tender and supplier requirements, the list of candidate suppliers, the selection and the decision process, and advises who to award the contract.
  • Drive the supplier selection process on spend categories or segments
  • Ensure that savings are achieved through the implementation of negotiated global or local contracts and that the internal customers are kept satisfied in terms of cost, quality, lead times and service level of suppliers
  • Monitor the suppliers’ risk on one’s supplier portfolio
  • Contribute to internal process changes or improvements that are part of the action plan or necessary for the optimization of the segment
  • Actively participate in supplier management process such as risk to ensure maximum compliance to the contract.


  • 10 years of experience with min. 3 procurement construction projects of min. 1 M€.
  • You are fluent in speaking and writing Dutch and English
  • Detailed understanding of the financial and contractual models and the underlying cost drivers applicable in the Construction/Retail spend category
  • Capacity to challenge the internal client needs (critical analysis)
  • Risk analysis
  • Knowledge of business administration, knowledge in financial analysis
  • Legal, contractual and compliance knowledge
  • SAP Ariba knowledge

Mandatory business experience

  • Know-how of the Market dynamics and its key players,
  • Negotiation skills,
  • Deal shaping / closing capabilities,
  • Knowledge of business administration, knowledgeable in financial analysis.
  • Experience in Procurement Construction Services
