Job description
Procurement plays a key role in driving financial control and strategic value. As Procurement Manager, you are a trusted sparring partner to senior stakeholders and the CFO. You challenge existing spend structures, professionalize supplier management and drive measurable impact across a €200m+ indirect spend portfolio.
Within Finance, you operate as the senior owner of the indirect procurement domain. You report directly to the CFO and work closely with teams across Finance, HR, Marketing and Operations. You will be responsible for setting procurement policy and managing key supplier relationship. Within your role you will drive procurement transformation across multiple spend categories, including Logistics, Marketing, IT, Retail Contracts, Utilities and Professional Fees. You will focus on governance, contracts, supplier performance and cost optimization. This position offers significant scope to build, improve and embed procurement capabilities in a growing international retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Supplier & Contract Management: manage contracts and strategic relationships with the top 30 global suppliers, ensuring performance and compliance, while identifying and onboarding new key suppliers to support business needs.
- Supplier Optimization & Rationalization: lead supplier rationalization by consolidating supplier spend into fewer high-value contracts, improving efficiency, and expanding supplier scope to boost service and quality.
- Strategic Sourcing & Spend Transformation: shift procurement from supplier-led to demand-led strategies, challenging historical spend behaviors and promoting data-driven decision-making. You collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement with operational needs.
- Cost Optimization & Value Engineering: analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and encourage departments to rethink supplier selection and spend strategies. Implement value engineering initiatives using industry best practices and introduce innovative procurement processes and improvements.
- Performance Targets:
- Reduce supplier base within the first year
- Achieve full contract coverage for strategic spend categories and top 30 suppliers
- Deliver annual cost reduction through sourcing and process improvements
- Ensure as much as possible compliance with SLAs and KPIs
- Complete vetting and onboarding of new suppliers within 30 days of identification
- Implement a minimum of two procurement process improvements per quarter
Candidate profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Economics or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Supplier Management
- Experience in complex, international organizations; exposure to retail or FMCG environments is a plus, not a requirement
- You have a strong understanding of procurement policy, contract management and negotiation
- Your skills include: analytical excellence, strategic thinking, the ability to operate independently, and strong communication skills to advise among others senior stakeholders
Conditions
- Salary range: €85.000 – €95.000 (including holiday allowance)
- Bonus up to 20%
- Car allowance of €1.000 on a monthly basis
- 25 holidays with the option to buy 4 additional days
- Hybrid working model: option to work 2 days a week from home, as well to work remotely from abroad up to 2 weeks annually. Working from the office in Almere which will relocate to Hilversum in the summer of 2026
