My job, Our future
As a strategic buyer, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of buying commodities across all Europe. You will report into the Supply Chain Director and part of an international team of Strategic Buyers based in France and the Netherlands.
As a buyer, you will be in charge of selection and sourcing of suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions, solving issues related to technical requirements, delivery, quality and compliance to support the sales company activities. You will manage several categories of tractor components and each category has some existing suppliers. The majority of suppliers are within Europe and traveling within Europe is foreseen in the role. You develop strong and long-lasting supplier relationships to realize substantial improvements in the supply chains, in terms of delivery performance, quality, overall-cost, etc.
You work in close cooperation with colleagues across Europe and Japan in logistics/supply chain, R&D, assembly and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize supplier’s delivery performance;
- Negotiate cost reduction with all suppliers.
- Work with the Procurement Planning team to meet inventory targets;
- Work with local teams ( R&D, Marketing ) to ensure that pricing, lead-time strategies and – opportunities are implemented and deployed at site level.
- Secure overall competitiveness by continuous development of your supplier base;
- Analyze spend per supplier and customer-group;
- Identify and contract preferred suppliers,
- Search for new/alternative/second source suppliers;
- Develop the existing supplier base to an industry leading level;
- Set savings targets per subcategory and track cost reduction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in manufacturing/production;
- Verifiable theoretical knowledge of procurement
- English is mandatory / French is a plus
- Pack office, excel, power point, etc
- Usage of SAP
- Analytical, curiosity, flexibility
- Background in a corporate environment and good intercultural skills
- Good understanding of all aspects of QHSE
- Interests in Agricultural and Ground care machinery industry
